Book: "The Old Spanish Missions of California" by Anne Jennings Nolan and "The San Gabriel Mission and the Mission Play" by Mildred MacLean (Chicago: Historic America Publishers, ca. 1928), 72 pp. A brown softcover book with a photograph of a Mission Play scene pasted on the front cover, dark green decorative border and text on the front cover, and a map of El Camino Real and the California Missions on the back cover. The first portion, by Nolan, is a general description of each of the missions. The second section, by MacLean, is a basic overview of the Mission San Gabriel, the Mission Play and its author, John Steven McGroarty. Black and white and color illustrations for both sections are in the book. The work is in good condition with creases on the front cover photo, stains on the rear cover and on page 72, and wear on the edges of the cover. None
