Color: Black; Blue; Brown; Yellow
"The Oxford Annual for Boys," edited by Herbert Strang (London: Oxford University Press/Humphrey Milford, 1928) 240 pp. A hardcover book (a) with a dustjacket (b) wrapped in a mylar protector. Both the cover of the book and the jacket feature the title in black letters at the top with a color image of an aviator standing on an overlook near the ocean and some mountains watching an airplane flying overhead. The spines have the title at the top with "21st year" below and the publisher's name at the bottom. The image from the front carries over and shows another airplane flying near a lighthouse and over the water. The work, part of a series of annuals for children, is an anthology of two dozen stories about places throughout the world, animals, and automobiles and airplanes. Many color illustrations and black and white photographs are included. Inscribed in dark ink on the flysheet is "Wishing Kenneth a / Merry Xmas and / A Happy New Year / Cousin / Rowan." Though the binding and pages are in good shape, there is some wear on the dustjacket and cover, particularly at the edges, so the book is in fair condition overall.
