Description

A snapshot photograph of the rushing Los Angeles River during the flood of February 1914. The photographer stood at the crumbled west bank and captures the high volume of water in the river. A man at the far left is next to building dangling over the bank and river. In the background are homes damaged or exposed to the high water line, while other homes are perched safely above the river. In the distance are some bare hills, presumably toward Highland Park. The overall condition is good.
