A snapshot of the south elevation of the old church at Mission San Gabriel, 1890s. The photographer stood in a field to the south and captured the belfry and much of the south wall of the church, as well as some trees, the old Mission Road, and a woman in a black dress standing next to a large planter. On the reverse is information from a San Francisco developer, including an early Kodak phrase for personal camera developing. Mentioned are two camera that were manufactured after 1891 and one until 1897. With soiling and mount edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
