Description

THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE MISSION WALKWAY'S EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE, CA. 1994 Color: Black, white A black and white photograph of the earthquake damage caused to the south side La Casa Nueva's Mission Walkway by the Northridge earthquake, ca. 1994. The vertical image shows the top of a damaged arch at center being supported by two beams, with the one on the right having a wooden block between it and the arch; two cracks run up from the top of the arch and disappear toward the grape arbor at the top of the image. A beam holding the grape arbor, and supported by a third beam to the far left, is positioned between the two cracks. An additional arbor beam can be seen at the top left corner going from left to right and out of the image. Branches and leaves of a tree can be seen at the bottom of the image through the top of the arch. Taken to record the damge caused by the January 1994 earthquake for future repair work, the image is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
