Description

"The Souvenir Journal of the Lawn Fete for the Benefit of the Barlow Sanatorium for Poor Consumptives," 22 September 1904. The item is the program for the fund raiser held at the recently-opened facility, now known as the Barlow Respiratory Hospital, at Elysian Park in Los Angeles. In addition to information about the sanatorium and the region generally, there is a program of events and a list of various committees and their prominent society members, with photographs of many of them, including Charlotte Workman, daughter of William H. Workman. There are also many advertisements from local businesses and numerous photo illustrations. With edge tears, soiling and stains, many creases, a few separate pages and other damage and wear, the condition is fair.
