McClurg & Co., 1918), 292 pp. The book has a blue hardcover with gold lettering for the title and author's name located on the top of the front and on the spine. The name of the publisher is also on the spine. On the inside of the front cover is a white label that reads "Compliments / of / John C. Cebrian / San Francisco / California." The name of a former owner is handwritten in black ink on the facing flypage. At the beginning are an introduction to the author; an acknowledgement to the Knights of Columbus by Cebrian; a dedication; a preface; table of contents; and a list of illustrations. The book, which covers the Spanish pioneering of America, contains twenty-six chapters seperated into three sections: "The Broad Story," "Specimen Pioneers," and "The Greatest Conquest." With some abrasions; dented corners; light soiling; small stains on the back; and small tears on the cover fabric, the artifact is in good overall condition.
