Description

Color: Black; Blue; Brown; Yellow "The Story of Brick," issued by the American Face Brick Association, 1926. The 63-page book has a brown paper cover with a brown brick design on the front and a red and tan border. At the center of the top is the title in black. Below this and within a rectangle is a color drawing of a courtyard with a fountain at the left. At the right is a stairway, and at the center of the background is a two-story home. The name of the company is in gold at the center of the back. At the beginning of the inside is a photograph of a brick garden wall in Pasadena and a title page. There is much information about brick and its use in construction including brick in history; the basic requirements in building; home construction; using face brick; costs; conservation of timber; and aesthetics and affordability. Also included are many black and white photographs of brick structures. With abrasions; creases; dents at the corners; fading of the gold lettering on the back; surface soiling; and tears at the top and bottom of the spine, the object is in overall fair condition.
