2023.1.1.4Description
The supplement to La Crónica newspaper, Los Angeles, 31 August 1887. The item, issued as Volume 16, Number 36, contains what appears to be a novel or other fictional work, "La Envidia!," or "The Envy!" of which this is the fifth book, subtitled "Love and Jealousy." Most of the four page, small-format, publication is concerned with the work, but there is some local news and ads, including the reduction of Southern Pacific Railroad rates. As very fragile with folds, tears, creases, and soiling on cheap newsprint paper, the condition is poor.
