"The Temple Herald," 4 August 1907. The publication of the Temple Baptist Church, located at Fifth and Olive streets, Los Angeles, lists the names of the pastor and assistant pastors, officers and officials, times of sabbath services, contents of various services, announcements for the week and miscellaneous news. There is also a vignette of the church facility, which was the site of Hazard's Pavilion from 1887, which the church leased until the then-new structure shown in the vignette was completed in 1906-07. Later, the structure became Clune's Auditorium for films and live performance and then, in 1920, the building became the Philharmonic Auditorium, remaining so until the 1960s construction of the Dorothy Chandler. The old auditorium was demolished in the 1980s and there is a parking lot there now. With many tears, creases, stains, soiling and the upper part of the last page nearly torn away, the condition is poor.
