Description
A real photo postcard of the Tower Telescope at Mt. Wilson, California, postmark date of 19 September 1919. Built in 1912, the 150 foot tower was created to observe distant celestial bodies as well as the sun and more. It is currently operated by the Division of Astronomy and Astrophysics of UCLA. The image shows a clear view of the tower with its domed shaped telescope and cover. Below the towe is a trail that leads to the base. Surrounding the structure are trees and other shrubbery. With abrasion on corner, soiling most notable on the reverse side, overall discoloration, the object is in good condition.
