Description
"The Works of Hubert Howe Bancroft, Volume XVIII: History of California, Vol. I, 1542-1800" (San Francisco: A. L. Bancroft and Company, Publishers,) 1884. Contents include history leading up to the settlement of Alta California from northern Mexico and Baja California; a bibliography of California history; and chronologically arranged chapters of the state's history, including local history, such as that of Los Angeles, up to end of Governor Borica's tenure. The boards are rubbed, abraded and soiled, but pages are clean if the binding a bit soft, so the condition is fair.
