Description

Color: Black and white A theatre playbill for Clune's Auditorium for the week of 23 August 1915, featuring "The Clansman" by D. W. Griffith and starring Lillian Gish. The front has the date of the program's coverage followed by the theatre logo and the names of the manager and owner below the logo. The film's cast; musical conductor and organist; list of music played during the performance; and roster of singers are provided. On the inside right panel is a synopsis of the film. The inside left and back panels have advertisements by local companies in downtown Los Angeles, including an ice and cold storage company; a drinking water company; a tailor; and a tavern. There is a tear at the bottom left edge of both parts of the program; the lower right corner of the front portion is missing; there is a half-fold; and there is major discoloration, so the document is in fair condition.
