Description

THOMAS AND EDGAR TEMPLE AT CAMBRIDGE SQUARE, THANKSGIVING 1926 Color: Black; White A photograph of Edgar and Thomas Temple standing in front of a statue in Cambridge Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Thanksgiving 1926. The two both wear heavy coats, hats and suits, and are standing with their hands in their pockets. Behind them is a statue of John Bridge, with the pedestal being a good three feet taller than the Temple brothers and atop the pedestal is the statue of Bridge with a book in his hand at one side of the body. In the background is part of a building, presumably part of Harvard University, while barren trees are at the background left. On the reverse, in dark ink, is the inscription "Thanksgiving Day / Harvard / Man / 1926" in Thomas Temple's hand. The photograph was probably taken by Walter P. Temple, Jr. and it appears to have been cut on the two longer sides. Much faded, and perhaps underexposed originally, and with damage at the top edge from exposure to water, the artifact is in poor condition. Number-Units: 1
