Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Thomas Temple and an unknown man on a porch, ca. 1930s. Thomas sits at the center on the top step of the porch stairs. He wears a short-sleeve polo shirt, riding pants, and boots. He smiles at the camera and holds binoculars in front of him with both hands. Behind him is one of the porch's wood posts, and behind this sits the man on a bench. He wears a collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves and dark pants. He holds a pipe in his mouth and extends both arms out in front of him. Across the back is a wood wall which is stained throughout. At the far left and right are doors and between these is a sash window. The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With a small stain at the left and some yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in overall good condition.
