A black and white photograph of Thomas Temple with an unknown woman, ca. 1930s. The pair stands at the center on a rock-lined dirt path as they face and smile at the camera. Temple is at the left and wears a tie, long-sleeve shirt, vest, and trousers. He holds a cigar butt up in his right hand and has his left arm around the woman's waist. The woman wears hanging earrings, a necklace, and a sleeveless pleaded dress. She has her left arm at her back and her right around Temple's shoulders. At the far left are bushes, as well as at the left and right of the background where there are also trees. Among this at the center of the background is the shingled roof-top and door of a house. At the left of the back is a stamp with the words, "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." At the bottom right corner is the number, "1." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With only a slight yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in good condition.
