Description

THOMAS TEMPLE'S TRANSCRIPTION ON A RANCHO LA MERCED DEED FROM CASILDA SOTO TO WILLIAM WORKMAN, 1851 Document: Two pages of handwritten transcription of a deed from Casilda Soto to William Workman, 30 April 1851, involving the Rancho La Merced, made by Thomas W. Temple II, 27 March 1957. The first sheet is a transcription of the document in the original Spanish. The second sheet is a partial translation into English, with the last four paragraphs and closure not completed. The document finalized the transfer of this rancho to Workman, who legally conveyed it to his son-in-law, F.P.F. Temple, and ranch foreman, Juan Matias Sanchez, the next year. The documents are in fair condition with some creases and discoloration. From the Thomas Temple Collection, donated by Ruth Ann Michaelis. None
