Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE, GABRIELA TEMPLE, AND INEZ KALEND AT MISSION SAN GABRIEL, SEPTEMBER 1971 Color: Black, orange, red, yellow, white A color photograph of Thomas W. Temple II, Gabriela Q. Temple, and Iez P. Kalend for the commemoration of the Yuma Massacre, held at Mission San Gabriel, September 1971. The three are standing on the steps in front of the rectory. Mrs. Temple is at left wearing a print dress of yellow and white and a mantilla with the lace portion falling down her back and yellow and red flowers in it. Mrs. Kalend, the daughter of Agnes Temple, has on a skirt of orange, green, and either black or blue, a white lace-collar blouse and a lace mantilla with a veil down to about knee-length. Both women hold the ends of a wreath used in the commemoration service. Mr. Temple stands between them, looking at his niece, and wearing a white ruffled shirt, neutral-colored vest with a diamond pattern, dark trousers and shoes, and black flat-top hat. Though the photograph has pieces of tape at the corners when it was mounted in the frame, it is otherwise in good condition. Number-Units: 1
