Description
THOMAS W. TEMPLE II AND AN UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SITTING ON BOULDERS
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II and an unidentified woman sitting on boulders, ca. 1930s. Thomas is at the left. He wears a white shirt, a tie, a sweater vest, dark slacks, black socks, and laced shoes. He rests both elbows on his lap. He holds a pipe with both hands. The woman sits on a boulder slightly in front of Thomas and to the right. She wears a dark necklace, a white summer dress, hose, and flat shoes. She has both arms on her lap. Many more boulders and rocks are around them and in the foreground. In the background are hills and some California Fan Palms. The latter leads to believe the area in the photograph is Palm Springs. On the back is a blue stamp for Anderson Photo Service which was in El Monte. The image was housed in Agnes Temple's photo album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With light stains and yellowing along the top, the artifact is in good condition overall.
