Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II AND NELLIE DIDIER AT THE SOUTHWEST GATE TO LA CASA NUEVA Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II and Nellie Didier at the southwest entrance gate to La Casa Nueva, ca. 1929. The two stand before the closed gate with only a portion of the second-floor east patio of the house visible behind them. Nellie Didier stands at left, leaning against the gate and wearing dark-colored clothing, including a blouse, skirt, and sweater, while she also has on light-colored hose and black shoes. Temple stands at an angle, looking towards Ms. Didier and wears a three-piece suit, apparently gray. He also wears a hat, while carrying a coat in the crook of his left arm. His right hand is around one of the gate posts. In the foreground is part of the cement area outside of the gate, including a portion of the tile memorial plaque to William Workman. On the upper right corner of the reverse is the stamped number "12." There is significant water damage, including parts of mounting corners adhered to the paper, at the upper portion of the object, so it is in fair condition. Number-Units: 1
