Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II AND UNKNOWN WOMAN ON STEPS OF A HOUSE Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II and an unknown woman on the steps of a house, ca. 1933. Temple leans against the wall flanking the stairs and wears a light-colored sweater and dress shrt, and dark tie, slacks, and shoes. In his left hand he holds what appears to be a pipe. The woman is seated on the wall and wears a floral-print dress and dark colored shoes. The steps are wide extending through the lower rigth portion of the image. The porch is also large with cylindrical columns painted a dark color. On the column at the top of the stairs is the street number "2845." In the background, though faint because of the darkness, is a wall and a window within it. To the left is a plant. It may be that the house is the same one in 96.7.65.4 and 96.7.69.3, but too few comparable details can be made. On the reverse center is a stamp for the photo developer in the shape of an oval. Within it is "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." At the upper right is the number "9." Aside from some darkening at the lower edge of the reverse, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
