Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II AT 48 BRATTLE STREET, CAMBRIDGE, MASS. Color: Black; White A photograph of Thomas W. Temple II in front of 48 Brattle Street, where he lived while attending Harvard Law School, ca. 1928. Taken from the sidewalk next to the street, the image shows Temple on a sidewalk in front of a planter bed, in which is some grass and a small tree. He wears a light-colored suit jacket and vest, white shirt, dark tie, darker pants than the jacket and vest, and black dress shoes. His right hand is in his right pants pocket. At the right is a fence or porch rail to an unseen house, while much of the background shows a three-story house with a covered porch, double-hung windows, some with shutters, and wood siding. It is not clear which structure is where Thomas lives. On the reverse upper right corner is a smudged and illegible stamped number, while the brand name "VELOX" is stamped throughout. In good condition overall, the item has minor surface soiling on the reverse, bowing of the paper, and dented corners. Number-Units: 1
