Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II AT THE MISSION WALKWAY GATE AND LA CASA NUEVA'S COURTYARD Color: Black; White A black and white negative of Thomas W. Temple II by the Mission Walkway south gate, and two views of La Casa Nueva's courtyard, ca. 1920s. The strip has five frames with the one marked 19 being of Temple by the Mission Walkway's south gate. He stands at the center amd wears a sweater, riding trousers, knee-high boots, and holds a pipe in his left hand. Frames 20-21 are of La Casa Nueva's courtyard from the south. The arched doorways to the west and east porches flank the center of the courtyard, which is all dirt. At the center of the back are three arches at the front of the Main Hall's south entrance and above this is the triptych window and the second floor balcony, which was yet without a rail. The courtyard's northwest corner is in frame 23. The Barbershop door is at the left while the Library door and Main Hall's south door are at the right. Above this is the second floor balcony which does not have a rail but does have four posts across the front. Prints for the negatives are items .1-.34 with the contact sheets being items .35-.37. The artifact has no signs of wear or damage and is therefore in good condition. Number-Units: 1
