Description
THOMAS W. TEMPLE II AT THE VIGARE ADOBE, CA. 1930s
Color: Black and white
A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II near the Vigare Adobe, ca. 1930s. Temple, wearing a dark charro suit with white shirt and black cumberbund, stands in the yard with a variety of plants and a palm tree around him. The adobe is at left with part of the wall, a window, and the wooden attic, addition, and peaked roof visible. On the reverse are five small sections where paper is adhered, indicating that the photo had been in an album. Written in pencil at the reverse top is: "Thomas Workman Temple II / Taken at Vigare's on Sept. 9." The image was probably taken before the San Gabriel Mission fiesta held each September. Other than some discoloration on the reverse, the image is in good condition.
