Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II IN HIS UNIVERSITY OF SANTA CLARA GRADUATION GOWN, MAY OR JUNE 1926 Color: Black; White A photograph of Thomas W. Temple II posed in his University of Santa Clara graduation gown, about May or June 1926. Temple wears his mortar board with the tassle hanging at the left and portions of a dark-colored shirt, lighter-colored tie, and striped, light-colored pants show through the gown, while Temple also wears dark shoes. He is on a sidewalk next to a school building and there is a piece of bread near his right shoe. Behind Temple are some bushes and shrubs, as well as grass. The date is assumed from his graduation from the university. On the reverse is a pencil inscription reading "Tom / Santa Clara," and there is a stamped number "24" at the upper right. The word "VELOX" is preprinted in several places on the reverse, as well. With creases, surface stains, soiling, and slight bowing, the artifact is in good overall condition. Number-Units: 1
