Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II, LUIS FATJO AND ROMERO CHILDREN AT HOMESTEAD SWIMMING POOL Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II, Luis P. Fatjo, Jack and Doris Romero and two unidentified children near the Homestead swimming pool, developed 28 August 1928. The group stands on the west end of the pool area, next to one of the dressing rooms. Part of the south wall and a sliver of the roof of this dressing room is at left. In the background is a section of the pool including a slide and ladder. Some of the concrete deck and iron pipe fence are also noticeable. Thomas Temple and Luis Fatjo stand behind the children, with Thomas wearing a solid, dark-colored bathing suit and Luis Fatjo a light-colored horizontally striped suit with a white belt. In front of Thomas are four children, all wearing dark-colored suits. At the far left is Jack Romero, with his younger sister Doris next to him. The two were children of Frank and May Scott Romero, the former being the ranch foreman and Temple family driver, as well as the brother of Maud Bassity. On the reverse lower right is a stamp reading "ENAMELO / SEP 7 1928 / WEBBS." Another stamp at the upper left is of the number "126." Webb's was a drug store in San Jose. In good condition, the artifact has only light discoloration on a reverse edge and one small stain at the upper right of the obverse. Number-Units: 1
