80.19.85.1Description
Color: Black and white
A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II, ca. 1940. The portrait shows Temple in a head shot, with a small part of his dark suit, white shirt, and patterned cravat visible. On the reverse is a stamp from the photographer, reading "SUBJECT / Tom Temple [handwritten] / PLEASE CREDIT / V. V. STOCKTON, PHOTO / 135 NORTH GARFIELD / ALHAMBRA, CALIF. / PHONE AT 2-5183. Another stamp on the reverse, which is much faded, does say "ALHAMBRA" on it and has penciled in remarks reading: "Thomas Temple / Sept. 2 / edit" and what may be initials. Since the San Gabriel Mission fiesta is held each early September, the image may have been for publicity for the event, which Temple was much involved in. Aside from some small creases and surface staining on the reverse, the image is in good condition.
