Description

Color: White Three documents used by Thomas W. Temple II in genealogical and historical research. The first is a photocopy of a manifest listing those on the first party of Spanish and Mexican travelers to California in 1769 and is assigned 80.19.67.1 for documenting its location [see separate preliminary catalog record]. The second is a five-page hand-written transcription in ink and from the Spanish of a letter from Father Juan Crespi from San Diego, 22 June 1769, when California was first settled by the Spaniards. The third is an eighteen-page list of baptized neophytes at the Mission San Juan Bautista, ca. 1801-1803. Fuller cataloging can be done when the material is sorted by item instead of the group in which it is now constituted. The papers are generally in fair condition.
