Description

THOMAS W. TEMPLE II, WALTER P. TEMPLE, JR. AND UNIDENTIFIED MAN IN A BEDROOM, CA. 1928 Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Thomas W. Temple II, Walter P. Temple, Jr., and an unidentified man in a bedroom. ca. 1928. The image shows Walter, Jr., seated at left on the lower bunk of a bed. He wears a dark-colored vest and slacks, a white shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and a dark-colored tie. His arms are crossed and rest on his knees. Thomas is next to him, wearing a similar ensemble, but without his shirt sleeves rolled up. His right hand grasps the underside of the upper bunk and his left elbow rests on his knee and left hand against his face. The third man sits in a wooden chair at right, and is only partially in the frame. He wears a light-colored suit with white shirt and striped tie and wears eyeglasses. Aside from the bunk bed, portions of a wood dresser with a small mirror at the top, a framed photograph of a woman, possibly Agnes Temple, and two pennants on the wall are visible. It is not known, however, if this was a room that Thomas shared with the other man in Cambridge, Mass. or if it was the dorm room for Walter, Jr, and Edgar at Dummer Academy in South Byfield, Mass. On the reverse is a penciled number "3" just right and below center. With significant water damage and stains from mounting corners and black photo album paper, the artifact is in fair condition.
