2005.98.1.1Description
"THOROUGHBREDS, SAN GABRIEL RIVER, WHITTIER, CALIF.," published by Matteson, Whittier, California and postmarked 4 October 1916. The real photo postcard shows a herd of cattle in the low-lying water in the river bed. In the background is an area of trees, while in the foreground there appears to be more of the river. At the bottom is the caption and name of the publisher. The reverse has a message and address and the postmark, stamp, and cancellation stamp are present. There is major foxing and/or stains on the back, some stains on the front, and edge wear, so the condition is fair overall.Lexicon
