Three hand rolled clay marbles, ca. 1860s. The set of marbles are said to have belonged to John Harrison Temple (1856-1926) as a child. The marbles are hand made. The two smaller marbles (b-c) are brown in color with a mottled design and circular marks where it was set on a surface to dry. They have been glazed and fired. These measure 11/16 inch in diameter. The larger marble (a) is generally blue and white with flecks of a golden brown. It has also been glazed and fired and measures 13/16 inch in diameter. The three marbles are generally in good condition.
