Description

Three linked photographs of a portion of Rancho Palos Verdes before development, Keystone Photo Service, ca. 1922. The view is taken from a chaparral and cactus-covered hillside and looks over an area consisting of considerable tilled and cleared areas, amongst which is a compound of structures, including a barn and other buildings. More hills and shoreline cliffs are at the left, while the broad expanse of the Pacific Ocean is in the center and right sides. The images at left and right have the studio's stamp, while the center has one from the "Palos Verdes Project" and its downtown Los Angeles address, as well as a notation that "This view taken along a portion of fourteen mile coast line of the Palos Verdes Estates, Los Angeles. The estates are twenty-five square miles in area, extending from San Pedro to Redondo." With a couple of small edge tears, a few creases, and a line of browning on the reverse from tape holding the photos together, the overall condition is good.
