Bowl: Gold metal and abalone shell decorative bowl manufactured by Tiffany & Co. The shallow bowl has a 7/8" border around the interior edge. The engraved art-nouveau border is comprised of alternating segments that feature a geometric design with either a flower at the center or a round piece of abalone shell. Bowl sits on a round metal ring. "Tiffany & Co./ New York 1723" is stamped at the edge on the reverse side. The bowl probably has a bronze or copper core with a textured bronze alloy patina. Bowl was shaped on a lathe from a flat disk. There is one visible dent at the edge, and the surface has darkened from handling. Fingerprint oil and dirt can be easily removed. Although this was not a custom piece is it very beautiful. Overall physical condition and appearance is good. Tiffany & Co./ New York 1723
