Description

Color: Blue; White A blue and white hand-painted tile fragment, ca. 1920s. The piece is a corner of a tile. It is glazed and it has light blue across the top and at the bottom left corner. At the center is a dark blue triangle which is outlined with white and blue double-lines. At the center of the triangle is a white circle with a dark blue swirl design. The piece was found on the southwest side of the property in a trench during the repaving of Don Julian Road in July, 2000. The fragment is similar to the tile installed in the Dining Room niche of La Casa Nueva. With abrasions, chips, cracks, and scratches, the artifact is in fair condition overall.
