Description

A timetable for the "Los Angeles-San Diego Air Line," ca. 1925-26. The front has an image of a company plane and other information. On the reverse is the schedule consisting of one flight from Los Angeles to San Diego in the morning and a return later afternoon flight, one-way and round-trip dares, and terminal locations. The line, also known as Ryan Airlines, operated from the spring of 1925 until September 1926 and the image of the plane may be the first Ryan built aircraft from 1926. The line may have been the first with regularly scheduled flights in the United States and originally used the first airplane built by Donald Douglas. Benjamin Mahoney who assumed full ownership of Ryan Airlines built the Spirit of St. Louis, Charles Lindbergh's famed aircraft for his trans-Atlantic crossing. With creases, stains, soiling, and edge wear, the condition is good.
