Description

TITLE INSURANCE POLICY, WEENONA HALL CREAGER, 7 JANUARY 1930 Color: Black, green, white A title insurance policy issued by Title Insurance and Trust Company of Los Angeles, 7 January 1930. The policy was issued to Prudential Insurance Company of America regarding a mortgage on Glendale property owned by Weenona Hall Creager. The front panel has an elaborate border and the trust company's name and location on it. The stamped number "284531" is at the top center. The inside two panels have elaborate designs, like those on currency. Inside, held by two metal clips, is a certification of the insurance of Prudential Insurance by Title Insurance and Trust. The next two pages is schedule A, with a property description and the terms of the mortgage. The last page consists of conditions and stipulations of the policy. Affixed is a map of the lot on the Rancho Providencia or Scott Tract in Glendale, which was owned in the 1860s by William Workman. The back panel of the policy has another stylized design like the front and inside. There is an ink mark at the top center of the front panel; surface soiling, especially on the back panel; tears and wear on the edges; and discoloration, so the document is in fair condition.
