Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Tom Mix on his horse, Tony, ca. 1930s. The pair are featured in the center and to the right. With his hands on the brow of the saddle and reins, and with his head turned towards the camera, the actor wears a ten-gallon hat; bandanna around his neck; vest with three buckles across the bottom; long-sleeved shirt; riding gloves; holster and gun; riding slacks with five buckles across the calf; boots lined with silver studs; and silver spurs. Tony has dark hair and a white spot going down the middle of his face as well as around the lower part of his four legs. His bridle is lined with silver studs and tringles; the saddle has silver studs and treads. The photo was taken in the desert, so there are three bushes on the left, and one on the right. There are large boulders in the background to the right and left; on the left, sitting on top of one of the boulders, is a man with a hat. A real-life cowboy-turned-movie star, Mix directed, produced, wrote, and starred in over 300 films during his 25-year career. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
