Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Tom Mix and his horse, Tony, ca. 1930s. Mix is featured at the bottom center, wearing a long-sleeve buttoned shirt, and laying on what appears to be a mattress. He is in an upright position while leaning on a fringe-lined pillow and covering his legs with a three-striped blanket. With a riding crop secured around his left wrist, he looks up at Tony who rests his head on the actor's right shoulder. The horse's bridle is lined with silver triangles, inset with flower designs and studs. Three more silver triangles, linked by two chains on the outer edges, go down the animal's nose. A saddle adorned with silver lining, studs, and tread can be seen on the horse's body, which is positioned to the back right. Blurry images of trees, grass, and bushes are across the background. A real-life-cowboy-turned movie star, Mix directed, produced, wrote, and starred in over 300 films during his 25-year career. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
