MAGAZINES, "TOURING TOPICS," December 1929, Volume 21, Number 12, published by the Automobile Club of Southern California. Among items are editorials, a rotogravure section, articles on tourist attractions, western history, club activities, fall fashions, and others. One article details the auction of land in Los Angeles in November 1849 to raise funds to repay John Temple for his loan of $3,000 to the city to pay for the Ord Survey, though it has inaccurate information about the Temples. At the end are routes and rules for highway patrol service cars operated by the club, official car forwarders, official hotels sanctioned by the club, district offices of the club, and official emergency road service stations. There are many illustrations and advertisements in the publication, as well. The covers have creases, scratches, sopiling, edge and corner wear, and are loose, though the pages are clean, so the condition overall is fair.Lexicon
