"Touring Topics," May 1929, published by The Automobile Club of Southern California. On the front cover is the publication title and date at the top. Below is a painting of Fisherman's Wharf, presumably in San Francisco, though it is not stated. At the bottom are titles of three articles in the issue and the cover price. Near the date is a mailing label. Contents include an editor's page; editorial; a rotogravure section; and articles on Owens Valley rock writing, travel across Mexico in 1849, the burro, a history of Joseph Chapman, the first American settler in Los Angeles, new cars, Yosemite, a biography of a oceanographer, and others, including poetry. There are photographs, woodcut-like drawings and other drawings and a map. Many automobile-related advertisements are throughout and there is a reference section of automobile-related areas, such as service stations, hotels, and district offices of the Auto Club, at the back. With cover corner dents; soiling on the cover; page browning and yellowing; folds; spine losses; cover stains; tarnish from removed staples; several significant tears on the cover edges; and a loose cover, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
