Description

Tourists at San Gabriel Mission, C. C. Pierce and Company, ca. 1905. The image shows about forty persons posed on Mission Road in front of the old stone church and belfry of the mission. Most of the persons are tourists and there are a few uniformed personnel of the Los Angeles Railway (Pacific Electric Railway) next to the end of one of the cars at left. At the bottom in gold letters is a caption with the mission's name, photographer's company name, and what seems to be the latter's location. On the reverse is printed information about reordering and the contact information for C. C. Pierce and Company. With fading to the caption, residue and bowing to the mount, and some spotting on the image, the overall condition is fair to good.
