Description
A real photo postcard, "Tournament of Roses Pasadena, 1922," by Photo Card Co., Los Angeles. The image shows a floral decorated car on a road, with throngs of spectators lining the opposite side of the street, which is in a residential neighborhood. A banner on the driver's side indicates that the passenger is the mayor of Los Angeles, this being the newly-seated George E. Cryer, who remained in the office until 1929. Cryer wears a formal suit and top hat and sits next to his wife, who wears a dark colored fur coat and hat. In the front seat are two men. The caption and company name are in white at the bottom. A pencil inscription on the reverse of the unused card reads "Mayor of Los Angeles." With yellowing, a black mark at the bottom of the photo, light soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
