Description
A stereoscopic photograph, "Toward LA from Griffith Park, Looking Down Over the Valley," 1920. Despite the written part of the title suggesting the view is toward Los Angeles, the perspective of the personally produced view appears to look north or northeast toward the San Fernando Valley. A dirt road/trail winds along the hills in the foreground, while in the hazy distance is the valley area and what looks like portions of the Verdugo Mountains behind portions of Burbank and Glendale. The caption is typed and written at the bottom and, on the reverse, is the ink inscription, "over and around and in the Hollywood hills, 1920." With surface scratches, matte bumping and soiling, the condition is good overall.
