Description

Color: Black; White An unused real photo postcard of a Rose Parade float entered by the Town of Temple, ca. 1925. The photographer stood on the street on which the float was riding. The float consists of greenery on the lower section, on the front of which is "TEMPLE" and on the side of which is "TEMPLE / HEART OF SAN GABRIEL / VALLEY." The upper portion of the float has flower arrangements in baskets and a white trellis, on which are vines and other floral decorations are notable, as well. At the right on the upper section is woman, who may be Agnes Temple. A hint of a man wearing a hat next to the woman may be Walter P. Temple, but the man is mostly obscured. In the background are large trees lining the streets and crowds of people standing or sitting along the curb of the road. On the back is the term "POST CARD"; a space for a stamp; and headings for correspondence and address. With light corner abrasions; some small amounts of residue on the edges; light creases; very small corner dents; light soiling; minor yellowing; and fingermark stains on the front and back, the overall condition is good.
