Description
Transcontinental air races papers from Dudley M. Steele, Chairman of the Contest Committee for the California Air Race Association, 1927-1928. Includes list of air fields and emergency numbers, air tour log from New York to Los Angeles, signed bulletin to all pilots (21 August 1928), letter to all pilots with instructions, signed rules for the race (14 August 1928). The papers are generally in good condition with minor creasing and acid burn throughout.
