Color: Green; brown; white; yellow
A color photograph of the trench digging for the perimeter fence of the Homestead Museum, ca. 1980. Two men are in the center working on the construction of the trench which appears from the bottom left of the image to the top right. One of the men, his back to the camera, is digging with a shovel and is wearing brown pants and a white t-shirt. The other man, wearing a blue shirt and jeans, is facing forward and drilling with a sledge hammer. To the left are three trees and to the right are mounds of dirt and shovels leaning against a chain-link fence. In the foreground is a man holding a pick-axe and wearing brown pants and a yellow t-shirt. More trees are seen in the background where a man wearing a blue and white shirt appears to be walking back towards a surveyor sitting in the shade. Yellow surveying equipment is set up next to him. In the distance is a parking lot with several cars. On a road to the far left is a red car driving away. The photograph was taken during the construction of the museum grounds. With little signs of wear, the image is in good condition.
