Two Chinese men at a Pasadena house, 1896. The image shows the two, one in a traditional Chinese hairstyle and wearing a long white work coat and the other in traditional black shirt and trousers with a flat-brim hat and both wearing Chinese slippers, standing at the bottom of steps leading to an open door at a screened porch. They were likely servants standing at their service entrance to the white wood-sided residence of at least two stories. In ink on the reverse is: "C.A. Bond / 270 Congress St. / Pasadena / Cal. / Apr 20th 96." Bond was apparently the owner of the residence and employer of the two men. The image is possibly a cabinet card photograph but with trimmer corners it is hard to discern, small stains, soiling and edge abrasion, the overall condition is good.
