Description

Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of two images of women near a car, Mexicali, California, ca. 1924. This is a copy photograph of two separate originals with much of the background visible. On the left is an image of two women standing in a street with cars and a building in the background. The woman on the left wears a dark colored dress with light colored detailing and cloche hat, light colored hose, and dark colored shoes. She holds a large handbag in her hand. At right is the second woman, wearing a light colored dress, hose and two-tone shoes. She has a hat that looks similar to the cloche but doesn't come down over the forehead. She has a coat draped over her left arm and has a purse tucked under that arm. The image on the right features the woman with the dark dress from the first photo, standing near a black car that looks like it might be the one in items .325 and .326. This time she has a fur wrap draped over her left arm. In the background the name Mexicali can be discerned in the window, so it is assumed that the image was taken in that Imperial Valley border town and that these are friends of the Temple family. With little indication of wear or damage, the item is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
