Description

Two linked photographs of a portion of Rancho Palos Verdes before development, Keystone Photo Service, ca. 1922. The view is taken from a tilled field and looks towards rolling hills in the distance. Rows of trees on both sides planted as wind breaks; workers tilling the field; a barn and other structures, and a dirt road at the left are of note. On the reverse are stamps from the studio and, on the left image, a stamp from the "Palos Verdes Project," stating that "this view taken along a portion of fourteen-mile coast line of the Palos Verdes Estatesm Los Angeles. The estates are twenty-five square miles in area, extending from San Pedro to Redondo" and the Los Angeles address of the project is given. With a tear at the upper right, a few creases, yellowing of the right photo because of the tape holding the two images together atthe back, and some small stains, the condition is good overall.
