Description

Two men next to a motion picture camera, Hollywood, 1915. The image shows the two, dressed in three-piece suits standing next to the crank-operated camera which is mounted on a wooden tripod. They are looking off to the left and appear to be on a set with buildings and debris in the background. An inscription on item .1 of the accession identifies the man at the right as C. R. Wallace, a film cutter for National Film Co., and establishes the date as about 1915. Film Co / Season 1915 / National Films / Successor to / O T Films." There was a Charles Ray Wallace who worked as a film editor and assistant director through the mid-1920s, so the thin man at the right is likely him. With some heavy creases, edge wear, and soiling, the overall condition is fair.
